Halo 3 disc read error

I got Halo 3 Collectors Edition on launch day. I never had any problems with the disc until just recently. Everytime I play for about 5-10 minutes, the disc is unreadable. Last night my frind brought Halo 3 over to play, and the same thing happened with his disc. His disc works fine at his house. This also doesn't make since to me because all of my games work fine except for Halo. Should I trade the disc in and get a new one, or call up Microsoft and see what's going on? Thanks.Halo 3 disc read error
well do other games work fine cause it might be your drive. it could be dyingHalo 3 disc read error
Yeah, all of my games work perfectly fine besides Halo. I have literally never had another disc read error on another game.

Well i dont know what the problum is but halo 3 is part of microshoft disk recoverment prograram check that out.
I would get a new copy if that does not work then call microsoft and i havent had my 360 for 1 week because none of my games work all it says is put a xbox 360 disc in tray.
This is driving me insane!!! This morning, I played for about two hours without any problem. Tonight, it was giving read error even during the initial loading...It磗 very frustraiting! Both my system and my halo 3 disc are brand new. I believe it磗 a software related issue. It can磘 be anything else, because every other game runs just fine.
I am having the same problem with my xbox 360 and call of duty 4, but it only happens when i try to load the first level (the one on the ship) But it doesn't happen any other time while playing any other levels. it also doesnt happen with any other game.
send in your xbox. i did that and now the problem isa fixed! haha. phoneing 1-800-4MY-XBOX is the best number to phone. they will tell you everything you need to know :D
I have similar issues with GTAIV

He told to me to try play the game without the HDD.

To my surprise, it worked. I played almost all day without any error, but I can磘 save... Crap! I will buy one of these Memory Cards. I live outside USA and it磗 cheaper to use a palliative solution than send my entire system to MS.

I think you should try to call Microsoft and see whats happening.
its just the cheesy cheap drive mircosoft put in those systems, the drive willgive you a error on the game and evenutally randomly scratch up your game happened to me and dont say i bumped it because i did not. I called mircosoft about it and now cases involving the laser doing it nowadays but off topic anywho back on it i would just call them up usually they can help you out but if not just don;t play that crummy game get COD4 better game

The whole purpose of you know buying a system with a HDD is to use the HDD on ''ALL'' games not 90% of them call them back and get them to fix this problem dont spend anymore money on a memory card thats just plain idoitic if you do.

I believe it will be very complicate to call them back and get them to fix this problem.

I will try to call brazilian MS support, but I don磘 know if they will honor my guarantee (besides the fact that my system is brand new). I磎 a lawyer and I磎 already thinking about sue MS if they don磘.

Your dvd drive is going . This happened to my 2nd 360 . I could play all my games except Viva Pinata. Sometimes i could play Viva for a couple hours , other times disc read error right away . The 360 gradually started to do this with the rest of the games until it took an hour just to get a game to load without an error . I'd just send the 360 in before it totally goes , and happens at a time where you really want to play something .

I磎 really starting to regret buying this...
Well one of the problems why the halo 3 collectors edition would not be working is the way the case is made. Most of you who probably bought the collectors edition are bound to have scratches on the disc because of the case.
