hdtv mode on xbox 360 premium

hello fellow console gamers , i have a question to ask , i bought an xbox 360 premium , and ive noticed that on the cable theres a switch that says either TV or HDTV , i connect every thing like i should with those 3 cables (the one with the red tip, white tip, yellow tip) , i got a 42'''' plasma tv to which i connect the console , now only when the switch is on TV , my tv recognizes the console and shows every thing with sound and all , but when i switch to HDTV the tv seizes to recognize the console and says ''no signal'' . you guys probably caught my drift and understood the question...thx for the helpers...hdtv mode on xbox 360 premium

to use the HDtv part of the cable u need to plug in the red, green, blue tip ones
You don't need the yellow tip for HDTV. Here's what you do.1.) Plug in the right cables Yellow: Composite video cable for SDTV. Don't plug that one in at all.Red/White: These are the audio cables. Plug them into your TVs audio inputs, or better yet your stereo.Red/Green/Blue: These are the component video cables. They are for HDTV. Plug them in to the appropriate sockets on the back of your TV. There will be a socket for each one that is the matching colour. 2.) Flick the switch on your cable to HDTV. 3.) Turn on your 360. 4.) Select the right mode on your TV using your remote (it will be called Component 1 or RGB 1 or something like that. Not HDMI!) If in doubt, just cycle through the video inputs on your remote until you hit the right one (i.e. you can see the signal from your 360).Hope this helps. PM me if you have further problems and I will try to get back to you.
