i prpbley would be more willing to download x-box orginals if achievements were addded. they can have about 500 achievement points per game.should they add achievements to x-box or ...
500, that's a good idea. it's currently the reason i DON'T buy the xbox originals atm, otherwise i would have bought at least 2should they add achievements to x-box or ...
If they did I would buy them.. right now they are pointless because they take up a lot of space and it's cheaper to just buy the actual game disc.
500's a good number, less than X360 games and more than XBL arcade games. There should also be an update so you can get achievements on xbox originals that you own, not just download, coz I have over 30 xbox original games.
This would be a good idea.
Absolutely. They were stupid not to add them in the first place. Their sales could've been a lot better.
They said they cant because then they would have to re work the game again. This would take lots of time/money
I think they should be added. Obviously MS have been lazy with the Xbox Originals. They've just taken the easy route to make a bit extra cash. I also hate how original xbox games now show up in your profile. They stop XBLA trial games being added but enable the addition of xbox originals. What's the point if they don't have achievements?
I agree with all points in this thread except for the part about them being lazy. It's not Microsoft. It's the individual game developers. Each dev would have to rework the code for each game to enable achievements. This would cost a lot more money with little to no gain from it so there is no way this will ever happen.
Wow I find it amazing that peoples decisions actually hinge on whether xbox originals have achivement points or not. MS definately made a genius move when they invented those digital numbers that mean absolutely nothing. But, to answer the question, they should add achivements to the originals especially if they improve sells by as much as this thread makes it seem they would.

What the hell do you think a GPA or grades are in school? Even leaderboards in what seems like every game. They are just f-ing numbers that mean nothing. It is just something to look at and to work for. Jeez. What do you want your system of choice to do when you accomplish something in a game....give you a BJ?
i agree because i was having this conversation with friends recently and they all said around 500 per game to....
maybe if they cant rewrite the code they could give you some achievements for finishing it
YES!!! That is exactly why I have not purchased any of them. It may seem ridiculous for some, but I feel as though I am actually rewarded for my in-game accomplishments. For those x-box games I have already played but no longer own, what's the point really of buying and playing through them again? To the poster above me using GPA score as an analogy to achievement score, that analogy is far from appropriate. Unless you intend on completing your education with a high-school diploma, which is laughable in today's society, a high GPA will go far towards getting you into a more prestigious college and graduate school. Many employers also base decisions on GPA. While gamerscore may only be bragging rights, GPA score is not even in the same category.
If it were that easy they would have probably done it by now. In other words, it's most likely impossible.
Gamerscores and leaderboards are pretty similar, but not exactly the same thing. Someone with a Gamerscore of 18,000 has not necessarily invested half the time into the 360 that someone with 13,000 has. This obviously being due to the vast difference in achievement difficulty across varying games.Comparing Gamescores to a GPA is incredibly obtuse. That's like comparing your gold in Oblivion to your real-life bank account, and conluding neither will buy you anything. A GPA helps you to be successful in life. It actually has a function; it's not just numbers for you to be happy about. A Gamerscore is an indication of how much time you spend on your hobby. I'm sure there's a few people who will point out millionaires who flunked high school, or some hippies who will say that being successful is irrelevant. Whatever. Statistically, I'm right.
Oh, I forgot to actually respond to the original question. Yeah, it'd be nice if there were achievements for Xbox Originals. Thought I hate to admit it, I'd probably be more inclined to spend time and money on a few of them if they would add to my Gamerscore. I think 500 points is a little high, considering how cheap many of the old Xbox games are. I agree with the concept, though.
If they did I would buy them.. right now they are pointless because they take up a lot of space and it's cheaper to just buy the actual game disc.
So you are willing to spend more and fill up space on your HDD because of Achievements...isn't that kind of sad?
I would buy most of them if they added achievements, but like everyone has said it its pointless to download them when you can get them cheaper from Gamestop or ebay!

It's no more sad than achivements themselves. I do stuff in games that I wouldn't normally do, just for achievements, and I know I'm not alone here.
