Thinking of finally getting a 360.

Has anyone bought one recently that has had breakdown issues, RRoD etc.??I have had a PS3 for several months now..and quite frankly..I'm tired of all the warm fuzzy colors that most of the games have, GTA4, especially. And I have seen shots of several of the same games for 360 and, although similar, they seem more vibrant and rich in color. My only concern is, as mentioned, getting one..only to have it go belly-up within the first week. Have these issues pretty much been squashed now? ThanksThinking of finally getting a 360.

my 360 just broke down about 2 weeks ago? i dont remember i kinda got over it a bit...(it died on me a week before ninja gaidenII!) i personally would wait until the new motherboards come out with better cooling in september but if you really cant wait you could probably get it now with no problems

I've had the Elite since August 2007, not broken yet *touch wood*
They're making a jasper model which is supposed to be much more reliable but it's highly unlikely that you'll have any problems with the newest falcon chip model. I play hours on end sometimes and I don't have any heat problems at all but I have the best buy warranty so when the new models come out I can swap my current model for a better one.
well that's neat!! I might go that route then if I still can.
I've had my elite for a while too. I got it when my launch console finally broke down. it finally broke down after almost 2 years.

I've been through 3 X360...

1st one... Was kinda my fault the Nikko Intercooler, instead of helping it actually broke my console... 'cause of crappy production.

2nd one... The lens broke... and it would freeze during gameplay (completely M$'s Fault :P)

3rd one... Has been working like a charm... **knocks on wood** Not to mention it came with the free HDMI... A must for HDTV's like mine...

I for one would suggest... buying it... I think the console has been through its rough stages... and the new 3 year warranty would deal with any problems thay may arise...

Besides... You wouldn't want to miss out on Fable2 or GOW2 would you ? ;)

Well I just got me self... a Nice 37''LCD HDTV... and to be honest... I couldn't be happier... I have no surround system on it yet... But the quality of the audio is very impressive... Specially in games like COD4 and Ace Combat... Not to mention you'll soon be having people bringing you the games 1st so they can experience what the game really looks like.... :D

I got my HDMI cable from an 360 ELITE... which has no HDTV to be played on... ;) So I just couldn't live with myself... knowing that cable was going to waste... :D
yeah, the RROD problems are fixed for the most part. Just make sure you get an hdmi equipped model (which means it's newer) If you can get a jasper, even better. There is probably a way to tell if it's a jasper, so you may dig around on the internet a little bit for some tips.
