Well Im not into racing but if your into rpg's, Oblivion(one of the best ever made), Mass Effect, and Fallout 3 comes out this fall(a definite buy for me)
maybe even lost odyssey :D

Grid is more arcadeish and PGR4 is more simish, I believe

Definitely try out Oblivion.
Forza Motorsport 2, PGR4Try GRID demo it seems that everyone is liking it.
Blue Dragon, Lost oddessy, Eternal Sonata, Oblivion + Expansions.Perhaps Dead Rising? I know it's not an RPG (as such) but it's not bad.
